WHAT CAN WE HELP YOU WITH TODAY?

Patient FAQs

Good City Health is a 501(c)(3) non-profit clinic, and there are no fees required for a patient to receive urgent care. However, we are thankful for any financial gift given by our patients upon receiving care, helping continue our daily operations. You can give a gift here.

Good City Health is an urgent care clinic, not an emergency room. Emergency situations should be addressed by calling 911 or by visiting the closest emergency center near you. See more here.

Urgent care is considered suitable for any injury or illness that is not life-threatening (requiring attention in the next 24-48 hours). Emergency care is necessary for more serious or critical, emergent medical situations. See general conditions we serve here.

If you think you or someone else could suffer significant harm or die without prompt attention, seek emergency care — or call 911 immediately. Emergency care is the right choice for treating conditions such as:

  • Chest pain
  • Coughing or vomiting blood
  • Deep cuts or bleeding that won't stop
  • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
  • Numbness in the face, arm, or leg
  • Seizures
  • Severe abdominal pain
  • Severe burns
  • Sudden blurred vision
  • Sudden, severe headache
  • Severe trauma
  • Drug overdose
  • Accidental poisonings

Our urgent care providers are trained to see a wide range of patients of all ages.

Good City Health is uniquely here to serve the uninsured and underinsured in our city. Insurance is not required to receive urgent care from licensed medical staff within our clinic.

Physicians, upon assessing your urgent care needs, may prescribe medication. Any other previously prescribed medication needed should be addressed through your primary care provider.

Since Good City Health is an urgent care clinic, any dental or eyecare needs should be handled at respective dentistry or optometry practices.

Good City Health cannot treat broken bones, though our medical staff can consult your conditions and offer care for sprains, strains and splinting.

Good City Health does not offer vaccinations at this time.

Any patients requiring surgery, or more extensive medical care, will be referred to a nearby hospital.

Currently, all patient visits are seen as walk-ins. Check our Google profile or Patient page for operating hours and visit us in-person to be seen by a licensed medical professional.

Volunteer FAQs

Not necessarily. We have both medical and non-medical volunteer positions you can fill. Medical roles would include physicians, nurses, physician’s assistants, and nurse practitioners. Non-medical roles would include providing administrative support or pastoral care or by being a Spanish translator. Apply here to volunteer.

Volunteers will be invited to complete a background check by Good City Health staff as a part of your onboarding process through a third-party service.

Medical volunteers will not be required to wear scrubs to administer urgent care. Both medical and non-medical volunteers will be given a volunteer shirt to wear during your serving rotations with other basic dress requirements.

When applying to volunteer, you’ll share your availability with our team, and as our clinic advances, serving rotations will continue to open. Volunteers can serve during these serving rotations, from start to finish, as many rotations as desired.

No. Good City Health is a clinic for anyone to help “make our city good”. We encourage anyone with a medical background or strong interest and/or experience in serving those with urgent care needs to apply to be a volunteer.

Of course, though, for the safety of our patients and credibility of our clinic, all volunteers will need to previously apply here, complete a background check and be onboarded before volunteering in a serving rotation.
